Huskies dominate Panthers in home game Saturday

Men’s basketball team remains undefeated, maintains perfect record

The Huskies hosted the Canadore Panthers in a fast-paced game on Saturday Nov. 3rd, winning the game to maintain the team’s position at the top of the east division standings.

The Huskies started off strong, finishing the first half with 45-27, with eight of the points coming from Teshayn Gayle. The team continued to play strong in the second half, with a final score of 99-70. Liban Mohamed took the stage in the second half, scoring a total of 19 points.

Coach Peter Sambu says the team’s focus on defensive as well as their ability to share the ball helped shoot them to victory: “I think the guys really shared the ball on offense and really focused on playing defense.”

According to Sambu, the Panthers were a formidable opponent with some good scores, but the Huskies were good at “neutralizing them a little bit.”

Sambu also emphasized the team’s motivation to improve with every game: “I want them to be better next week or next Tuesday than they were today, so as long as we continue to work that way I think we’ll be okay.”
