Spring election candidates announced 

Ten positions to be filled on the SA Board of Directors 

The candidates for ten positions on the Student Association’s (SA) Board of Directors have been confirmed.  

The SA is holding its spring elections this month with three executive and seven educational center representative positions to run for. Many students have shown interest in running for the positions and come forward to nominate themselves.  

A total of 48 candidates have been certified by the Chief Returning Officer as qualified to run for the elections. They are as follows:

Additionally, students will vote for the George Brown College Student Governor. They are the students’ voice on the GBC board, ensuring that issues important to students are heard directly by the college.

Three candidates have been certified to run for this position:

The campaigning period is now underway, with candidates being able to choose their own method and medium of campaigning.  

Voting will be held between March 27 and 31, and students will be able to vote online and in person. All current GBC students are eligible to vote. 

Students can learn more about the candidates by staying updated during the campaign period. The Dialog will conduct a townhall debate for the three executive positions on March 22. The debate aims to provide candidates with a platform to share their plans and intentions and allow students to learn more about them. 

The debates will take place at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. for the Director of Student Experience, Director of Education and Equity, and Director of Communications and Internal respectively. 

The debate will be accessible for students through zoom via this link. Students can send in questions they have for the candidates via email to communications@sagbc.ca.
