GBC’s Health Benefit opt-out deadline is here

February 3 is the deadline to opt-out of or modify a plan under the SAGBC’s Health Benefits Program and domestic and international students are encouraged to opt-out if they don’t require the benefits.

Health benefits coverage is automatically included in student tuition fees, but students can be reimbursed by filling out a waiver form after reading these instructions.

Domestic students can complete the procedure by submitting the form which can be found at WeSpeakStudent’s official site. International Students who are not residing in Canada during the Winter 2022 semester are not eligible to access the Extended Health and Dental plan and are hence encouraged to opt-out.

Post-secondary international students who fall under the OHIP provincial plan can also opt-out and claim a refund by simply following these instructions and submitting this form before the deadline.

The Health Benefits Program coverage runs until April 30, 2022 for both domestic as well as international students.

For more information students can visit Student Association’s website. If you run into any issues or have any queries about the process, students are encouraged to contact HealthBenefits2@Sagbc.com.
