Students are encouraged to take advantage of financial awards available to them before the cut-off date on January 30, 2022. These scholarships are aimed at helping students financially and acknowledging the accomplishments they have achieved in school and beyond.
The college has a diverse range of scholarships and awards including those offered by GBC and the Student Association as well as awards offered by external institutions. Awards are inclusive, with opportunities for international or Indigenous students, alumni, as well as athletes. Some awards are college-wide while others are divisional.
The criteria for eligibility are not just limited to academic performance. The evaluation process takes in consideration various aspects including activeness in the community, financial needs and any emergency bursaries if needed; hence every student is expected to be eligible for some award. Although most scholarships require students to be enrolled in full-time courses, there are awards that are granted to part-time students as well.
To apply, students must log in to their STU-VIEW accounts and enter the Student Awards section, where they can complete their Student Profile. Once complete, students will be notified of their eligibility to access certain awards. You can learn more about the application process and follow the step-by-step guide here.
Most of the scholarships and bursaries are granted during the winter semester, with fewer opportunities during the fall and spring semesters, making this the best possible time to apply.
