Trans Workforce job fair postponed

The community action project and initiative called Trans Workforce—a job fair specifically geared towards trans people, has been cancelled and postponed until sometime in the winter or spring semesters.

It was with deep regret that Biko Beauttah, the woman and trans* people representative for the Student Association of George Brown College (SA), which funds The Dialog, announced the job fair’s cancellation, an initiative that came from frustrations in her lived experiences as a trans woman.

In addition to her role at the SA, Beauttah is very busy as a full-time student, as well as a newly elected member to Pride Toronto’s board of directors.

“It is very important that I allow myself the time needed to apply all my passion and energy that I know I have, in order to give the students of George Brown College and the community the very best—they deserve it,” said Beauttah in a text message to The Dialog.
