GBC's top ten on Ontario's ‘sunshine list’

Every year since 1996 the Ontario government has released the Public Sector Salary Disclosure List, which lists employees in the public sector that make over $100,000.

George Brown College (GBC) President Anne Sado tops the list for GBC and is the eighth highest paid in the entire college sector with her combined salary and taxable benefits totaling $360,462.12 in 2012.

Sado raked in an additional $5508.77 compared to 2011 when she earned $354,953.35 in salary and taxable benefits.

A total of 294 GBC employees made the “sunshine list” in 2012 compared to 266 in 2011, a 10.5 per cent increase.

GBC’s top ten

1. Anne Sado, President, with  $358,700.12 in Salary and $1,772 in taxable benefits for a total of $360,462.12

2. Eugene Harrigan, Vice President, Corporate Services, with $222,000.12 in salary and $6,249.07 in taxable benefits for a total of $228,249.19

3. Lorie Shekter-Wolfson, Assistant Vice President, Waterfront Campus & Health & Community Services Partnerships with $203,300 in salary and $6,604.87 in taxable benefits for a total of $209,904.87

4. Karen Thomson, Vice President, Marketing & Strategic Enrollment Management, with $201,059.90 in salary and $6220.65 in taxable benefits for a total of $207,280.55

5. Terry Comeau, Executive Director, Waterfront Development, with $195,100.04 in salary and $212.07 in taxable benefits for a total of $195,312.11

6. Nancy Hood, Executive Director, Human Resources, with $177,820.02 in salary and $6,541.01 in taxable benefits for a total of $184,361.03

7. Yves Herbert, Chief Information Officer, with $178,662.14 in salary and $5,679.59 in taxable benefits for a total of $184,341.73

8. Colin Simpson, Dean, Centre for Continuous Learning, with $166,499.88 in salary and $6,184.29 in taxable benefits for a total of $172,684.17

9. Lorraine Trotter, Dean, Centre for Hospitality & Culinary Arts & International Education with $169,692.23 in salary and $435.15 in taxable benefits for a total of $170,127.38

10. Maureen Walsh-Loweth, Dean, Centre for Business, Arts & Design, with $161,900.02 in salary and $6,517.94 in taxable benefits for a total of $168,417.96
