You may not know their name, but you’ve probably seen their work.

They’ve been involved in some of the biggest projects across television and gaming; but you probably don’t know who they are.

Platige Image has long had many hands stirring an abundance of pots. Whether it’s cinematics for video games, advertising for some of the most luxurious brands, or creating visual effects (VFX) for film and TV, this group has done it all.

Platige is a production and postproduction studio founded in 1997 in Warsaw, Poland. We’re known for high-end animation, cinematics, VFX and immersive experiences created for global entertainment, advertising and culture. From The Witcher, Call of Duty and Cyberpunk to The Witcher Netflix series, theatre shows and large-scale events, we specialise in premium visual content,” said a member of the Platige team. “The company started in a very Platige way – unconventional and bold. The founders sold 300 self-designed fluorescent lamps to raise the capital needed to open an animation studio. It was 1997, CGI in Poland barely existed, but they believed that digital tools could transform the industry. One of our first major milestones came with creating VFX for feature film Quo Vadis in 2001, followed by an Oscar nomination for The Cathedral in 2003, achievements that truly put us on the map and kickstarted our growth.”

With almost 30 years under their belts, the company was not always so expansive in their works. In fact, Platige Image started out just making music videos before moving into post-production for commercials. It wasn’t for a few years that the company grew into the space they are most known for – VFX and gaming.

“As we grew, new opportunities kept opening up, and we slowly expanded into film VFX, TV series projects, and eventually the gaming world. Today, our biggest focus is on game cinematics and in-game content, as well as VFX for film and TV series”

Speaking of TV series, Platige is heavily involved in work on The Witcher series – both the hit Netflix show and the upcoming game The Witcher 4.

Releasing last year, season four of the hit series starring Liam Hemsworth – formerly starring Henry Cavill – continues the story of Geralt of Rivia. Based on the books by Andrzej Sapkowski, the series focuses on Witcher Geralt and his chosen family Yennefer and princess Ciri.

If you’ve seen the latest season – spoiler alert if you haven’t – their most notable work in the season can be seen towards the end. Featuring character Leo Bonhart, played by Sharlto Copley – the man hunting Witchers – Bonhart enacts a brutal justice of his own making on Ciri’s friends.

Other works of note include the epilogue of Wonder Woman by Patty Jenkins.

“We created a fully CGI world that feels almost sculpted, a living mural telling the history of the Amazons. It drew inspiration from our earlier project The Battle of Grunwald 3D, but pushed the idea much further: transforming a static, painterly composition into a dynamic, emotional sequence. It’s a piece that still resonates with audiences and directors, many clients reach out to us specifically after seeing this work.”

As they continue to expand their dominance in the entertainment industry, Platige has plans to create their own game. In addition to that, the team is also in late phases of production on a film.

“Together with PJ Games, we’re currently developing our own game called The Whims of the Gods. It’s still early, but it’s a project we’re very passionate about. We’re also in the post-production phase of our live-action feature film, a Kashubian folklore-inspired horror titled OPI – and we’re very excited about this one.”

While it’s still too early for details on The Whims of the Gods, considering the work of the company, there’s no doubt that the future is bright.

From small beginnings to a larger-than-life presence across numerous fields, Platige Image is continuing to show why hard work and a lot of love for your work can set the stage for something that stands among the best.

“Let’s say that creativity grows when you’re brave enough to experiment. Platige started from nothing but curiosity, as ambition of two young students with a single Silicon Graphics computer, and the belief that art and technology can tell powerful stories together. If there’s one message to take away, it’s that bold ideas matter, and when you chase them with passion, they can take you much further than you expect.”

Platige Image is an Oscar nominated and BAFTA award winning company based out of Poland.
