LA based band returns to Toronto later this year.

The Toxhards, a rock band from Los Angeles, are bringing their exciting mix of music, theatre, and chaos back to Canada this year.

With their dramatic shows, fun personalities, and viral songs, they’ve become a band that’s hard to ignore.

The group is made up of three friends, Casey Donovan, Alan Powers, and Emerson Harris, who mix different styles like psychedelic rock, prog rock, and wild stage performances.

But they say their sound came together naturally.

“We never planned to sound a certain way,” they said. “We just made music we enjoy. We all like different kinds of music, and when we play together, it just works.”

They became popular online thanks to “Ængus, The Prize-Winning Hog,” a dramatic and funny rock song about a prize pig. The video went viral on TikTok and YouTube, and many new fans found the band through it.

“We thought it was just a fun song to play live. But people really connected with it, and now Ængus kind of feels like our band mascot.”

Their concerts are full of costumes, jokes, and surprises. The band said they didn’t want to be just another group standing on stage playing songs.

“We love concerts where something unexpected happens. We want fans to feel excited and part of the show.”

They also use ideas from their theatre background to make sure their concerts flow well, mixing fast, fun songs with slower, emotional ones.

On April 25, they released their first album, Your Neighbourhood, with Hopeless Records.

It tells the story of a man named Adam who feels stuck in life and goes through a near-death experience. The songs follow his journey, and even include a fake radio station in between, with Donovan playing the role of the DJ.

“It’s kind of like a rock opera. It’s emotional, creative, and it really shows who we are as a band right now.”

Although their music is serious, the band loves having fun on social media. Their TikTok’s often show funny moments and jokes between band members.

“We don’t try to go viral,” they said. “But if something makes us laugh, we record it and post it. That’s what works best for us.”

After visiting several Canadian cities, the band says they’re excited to return, especially to Toronto.

“We had such a great time here. The crowds are always full of energy, super kind, and really fun to play for.”

The Toxhards will be back in Toronto this fall. Ticket can be bought at toxhards.com/tour.
