The Google Devfest 2023 will be held at George Brown College’s (GBC) St. James campus this year.
The event is being supported by the Student Association of George Brown College (SAGBC) this year and GBC students may attend this event free of cost.
The Devfest is a one-day tech conference that includes panel discussions on technology related topics and brings together tech companies, industry experts, developers, and students.
Sri Krishna Rajan, former director of communications and internal with the SAGBC and a GBC alumnus is a volunteer at the Devfest this year.
“This event is crafted for tech-enthusiastic students, professionals, and researchers by the GDG Cloud Toronto community. As I have been highly involved with the student union for three years, and being a proud GBC alumni, I wanted to bring something meaningful for our student members through collaboration and bring the best value for our students and the wider community,” Rajan said.
The event will take place from 9:30 a.m. till 4 p.m. on Oct. 21 at the hospitality building of St. James campus.
The expected number of participants for the event is a little over 600 in person and 1000 virtually.
Students who attend will be able to network with industry professionals, while also learning and engaging in discussions regarding the latest developments in the tech industry.
Rajan said, “Conferences are always beneficial, particularly Tech conferences like Devfest 23; students get a chance to share and engage in insightful discussions with others on the latest happening in the tech industry, as well as an opportunity to gain new perspectives on this. Keep up with trends and a robust research network.”
He shared that students who attend will receive a subscription to Google’s learning platform, a certificate of participation, and valuable knowledge from technology leaders.
