The Annual Student Association Pride picnic is back this week in celebration of Pride Month 2023.
The picnic will be hosted at the three major campuses – June. 20 at St James campus, June. 21 at Waterfront, and June. 22 at Casa Loma.
Pride month is celebrated in June every year where 2SLGBTQIA+ communities and allies come together to spotlight, celebrate, and recognize the resilience, contributions, and talents of the 2SLGBTQIA+ communities.
The Student Association is committed to making George Brown College a safe space for its students and works year-long to serve various equity groups through the Community Care Centre (CCC).
This is the second annual pride picnic organized by the CCC alongside the events and recreation department.
Students attending the picnic can play board games, use the photo booth, and engage in button-making with the CCC. There will be free Subway sandwiches at St James, pizza, or hotdogs from Chartwell’s food court at Waterfront, and Barbecue from La Dolce Vita at the Casa Loma campus.
The picnic is a drop-in event and all students are welcome to join in the celebrations.
