Returning SA talent competition a chance for students to connect and enjoy performances.
GBC’s Got Talent is coming back to campus this year.
Participants who pass through the audition will have a chance to perform live in front of other students at the main event and win cash prizes.
Prizes include $500, $300, and $200 for first, second, and third respectively.
The return of the annual talent show gives students a chance to perform things that they can do best and compete against their peers. Auditions will happen in-person at different campuses from Nov. 8 to 15 between 11a.m. and 3 p.m.
Audition dates include Waterfront Campus – Nov. 8, Hospitality Building – Nov. 9, Casa Loma Campus – Nov. 10, TMU Campus – Nov. 15, and WFD (Daniels Building) – Nov. 17
Selected participants will be notified by Nov. 18 and invited to perform at the main event on Nov 24 from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the student centre, Casa Loma Campus.
“The biggest thing is for the main event to be back on campus with it being in front of students.” said Neil Cumberbatch, events coordinator.
On average, about 18 auditions are selected to perform at the main event every year.
Past performances include singing, rapping, playing music, dance, poem reading, juggling and more.
“All various types of talents are welcome. But this is a PG 13 showcase,” Cumberbatch added.
Two main qualities that participants will be judged on include their skills and the audience’s reactions during their performances.
Previous performers, select GBC students, and SA staff will be the judges.
Those who want to join the audition can visit https://linktr.ee/sagbcevents and select GBC Got Talent Audition Sign Up to register.
The deadline for registration is Nov. 15 at 2 p.m.
