A woman has been charged with attempted murder after Toronto police said that she had stabbed a baby.
According to a news release issued by Toronto Police Service, paramedics had found both the woman and the baby with stab wounds in the Bathurst Street and Canyon Avenue area on Wednesday afternoon.
They were both taken to the hospital after they were found at around 4:21 p.m. on Wednesday.
While responding to the medical complaint, officers found the wounds to be suspicious.
Police said the critically injured baby was undergoing treatment at a local hospital and was in a stable condition.
The 36-year-old local woman appeared before a judge on Thursday and was remanded in custody.
