Huskies defeated by La Cite Coyotes days after victory at home.
After celebrating home victories against the Fleming Knights on Oct. 19, George Brown College’s (GBC) men’s and women’s volleyball teams have hit a rough patch.
The GBC Huskies on Saturday Nov. 3 faced off against the Algonquin Thunder, from which the men walked away with a 3-2 win while the women lost 3-0.
On Sunday Nov. 4, GBC played the La Cite Coyotes and the Huskies came out unsuccessful, losing 3-0 in both of the matches .
Women’s head coach Daphne Choi, speaking after their win against the Knights, was “super proud” of the result, and praised the team’s aggression on the court and the support between the players.
“When we were down we were still in a really good mood, and we’re still enjoying our sport,” she said.
Choi named Tiana Samuel as her “player of the (Oct. 19) game,” saying that she is “serving fantastically” and “swinging aggressively”, in addition to being a positive face on the court.
The Huskies will be given a chance to recover in their upcoming match against the Canadore Panthers set for Nov. 10 at Casa Loma.
