GBC open doors to public to celebrate the works of design and media students
For students of the centre for arts, design and information technology at George Brown College (GBC), a chance to showcase their work is always a big deal.
GBC will be opening its doors to the public for its annual year-end showcase, ShowGBC 2018.
ShowGBC, is an annual initiative aimed at promoting and celebrating the creativity and talent of students emanating from the various arts, design and technology programs offered at the college.
To kick it off, the school of design will be staging its exhibition featuring creative projects by students from nine programs. This event, titled RISE, is billed for Saturday, April 28 at St. James campus.
RISE promises a fusion of art and ingenuity, with the best projects from the graphic design, game design, game development, game programming and concept art for entertainment programs to be placed under the spotlight.
Also up for display will be the works of interaction design students, alongside the final thesis projects of post-grads in interactive media management.
This event is slated for 3 p.m to 8 p.m. and will be housed at the SJE building, 230 Richmond Street, East.
The school of media and performing arts will be hosting its Year End Show on Wednesday, May 2 at Waterfront campus (51 Dockside Drive, Room 713).
This event will be a series of presentations, during which each of the school’s six programs will be given a specific time slot to showcase their work.
It presents the perfect platforms for graduating students to market their ideas and abilities to potential employers and clients.
Both of these events are open to the public, free of cost.
