The government isn’t doing enough, says students
A rally at George Brown College (GBC) brought students and striking Ontario faculty together in solidarity.
Ashlyn Frost, a student of social worker at Centennial attended the rally and is upset about how long the strike has gone on. She said that she has been very frustrated trying to learn by herself on Youtube about something that she paid tuition for.
“The government is doing nothing to help us (students). We’re paying thousands of dollars to not get an education right now and college faculty has been exploited,” Frost said.
JP Hornick, chair of the Ontario Public Service Employee Union (OPSEU) faculty bargaining team, said that the students’ support is important.
“It really helps to know that students understand how hard this is,” she said.
