Scream marathon for brain cancer research
The Student Association will match student donations to raise money in memory of director Wes Craven
From Oct. 21 to Oct. 24 the SA will run a movie week as a tribute to Wesley Craven, best known for creating A Nightmare on Elm Street, who died of brain cancer on Aug. 30, 2015. There will be a donation box at the entrance of the SA lounge and all the proceeds will go to the Canadian Cancer Society. The movies will be shown at Kings Lounge, St. James campus.
SA donates $5,000 to Ontario College Marketing Competition
George Brown College centre for business will host the OCMC event in Nov. 2015
Twenty GBC business students will participate in Ontario College Marketing Competition (OCMC) Nov. 26 and 27, 2015 at Hilton Toronto. The competition has been running for 30 years, bringing bright undergraduate students enrolled in business programs together to demonstrate their skills and network with industry professionals. With 350 participants and 80 volunteers, the two-day event features a jeopardy along with a full-day competition on solving various marketing problems and a closing reception. The Student Association donated $5,000 towards the competition.
