Public safety alert issued over man luring young girls

Two incidents involved ten-year-old girls in the Forest Manor Road and Parkway Forest Drive area

A public safety alert was issued on April 24 by Toronto Police Service over two incidents involving young girls being lured into vehicles by a man in the Forest Manor Road and Parkway Forest Drive area.

Both incidents happened on weekdays at around 2 p.m.

On April 11, a man was reported to approach a ten-year-old girl trying to lure her into his vehicle as he drove by. An adult was also there walking behind her at the time of the event.

The other incident happened on April 22.  Two ten-year-old girls ran away from a man who was attempting to lure them while they were in a park. They told an adult afterwards.

According to Toronto Police Service, the man was described as older, white, and had access to a red vehicle. In both incidents, the man escaped the area and is believed to be the same person.

“If children are going to go out and play, they should be doing so in packs, not alone,” advised David Hopkinson from Toronto Police Corporate Communications with respect to this situation.
