Student bidding team takes home $2K first prize

A team of George Brown College (GBC) students won The Construction Institute of Canada’s (TCIC) Simulated Student Bid Competition.

Lead by Justin Babcock, team members Bianca Savage, Brad Shapiro and Anthony Carmosino took home the $2,000 first place prize on April 8 for Most Accurate and Complete Bid, according to Daily Commercial News.

The competition carried on from last year’s, which entailed a “two-stage bidding process with an electric bid submission using Infinite Source on the first day, and followed by a hard copy submission 24 hours later,” according to Daily Commercial News.

Prizes in the amounts of $2,000 for first place, $1,000 for second place and $500 for third place, were awarded alongside first and second places prizes, for teams who were closest to the target price.
