Another year over already!

This year was definitely one to remember. As my second year at The Dialog, I was fortunate enough to have a few things: a great team of hard-working individuals, a great editorial team who kept each other positive during those long production nights, and an amazing campus paper that I’m happy to say I’ve been a part of for the last two years.

It’s been great to see the enthusiasm from my teammates and colleagues as well as from people who’ve contributed, and to see each person engaged through the sharing of their ideas.

As this year’s senior editorial staff my job would not have been as fulfilling without my hardworking team, and I stress this because you want to be working with people who commit to their assignments, who want to work with you to see where they can improve, and put the effort into their assignments; this year was amazing because of my team.

With another year over I’ve been looking back at the past two years and I can see how much I’ve improved as well, not only in my writing but the way I engage with my team, the way I’m able to get articles done efficiently while respecting deadlines. I’m very fortunate to have worked at The Dialog and I owe a lot of my writing success to having the opportunity to be involved in the campus press.

Working with the campus press brings a lot of opportunities, NASH 76 and 77 for example; a great networking event with student journalists across the country getting together for four days—Alberta in 2014 and Ottawa this year.

It gave me the opportunity to become an associate member of the Communication Workers of America—Canada, the opportunity to meet amazing people, and most of all its given me ultimate confidence in my writing and my ability to get across messages for others who wish to have their voices heard.

I will always love the campus press!
