Man arrested for five-day kidnapping and sexual assault with weapon

Police say a man kidnapped a woman working as a sex-trade worker near Sherbourne and Shuter holding her captive for five days and repeatedly sexually assaulting her

Toronto Police have arrested a man they say kidnapped a 27-year-old woman who was working as a sex-trade worker near Sherbourne and Shuter on Tuesday, March 31.

According to police, Rejean Hermel Perron, 43, took the woman to his home near Dundas Street East and Jones Avenue. Upon arriving at his home the woman became uncomfortable and tried to leave, at this point police allege Perron produced a gun and held her handcuffed and bound for five days. Police say Perron repeatedly sexually assaulted her.

On Sunday, April 5 police say the woman escaped onto the balcony of the house where a passerby saw her and called police.

Perron has been charged with kidnapping, forcible confinement, sexual assault with a weapon and assault.
